Day 1 Barcelona
Barcelona, collecting from the airport we enjoy some of the city sights before checking into our overnight stay. This free day in Barcelona enabling visits to the Barri Gotic in old part of the city, church of Sagrada Familia by architect Antoni Gaudi which today is an international symbol. Palau de la Música Catalana and Hospital de Sant Pau, The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and St. Eulalia or basilica of Santa Maria del Mar. Time to site on the balcony and enjoy an evening drink as we leave Barcelona in the morning.

Day 2 Benicarlo
Driving along the coast road from Barcelona we stop where and when to suit heading to Benicarlo set on the coast an important fishing port and tourist center in Costa del Azahar. The historic quarter filled with remarkable examples of stately architecture. Benicarló’s origins go back to the Middle Ages, when it was a little Arab town with many of its houses exhibiting their coats of arms. At the heart of the village we find the church of Sant Bertomeu.

Day 3 Valencia
We drive south today along the coast road stopping where requires exploring the points of interest. Valencia has historically been Spain’s Mediterranean port, thanks to its location and has that special charm of cities that are also seaports. And the fine sand and clean water, the vastness of the sea and the closeness of the coastal mountains make the Valencian coast uniquely attractive.

Day 4 Valencia
Free day in Valencia gives time to explore the many interesting sites of this famous city. When walking around Valencia, visitors can feel the pulse of many centuries in its walls and under the ground. From the remains of the Roman forum founded by Junius Brutus, Valencia Cathedral and now in the Plaza de la Virgen which gave rise to Valencia, to the emblematic Arts and Sciences Centre, the city has transformed its appearance whilst rescuing monuments that are witness to past eras.

Day 5 Denia
The drive from Valencia to Denia takes us through the National Park De L’albufera and on through Real de Gradie before arriving in Denia. This city name to the goddess Diana, and turned its port into one of the most active in the Peninsula. The Muslim castle keeps many examples of its heritage at the Archaeological museum. The city also has remarkable monuments such as the church of Asunción, from the 18th century, with Renaissance and Baroque.

Day 6 Ibiza/Denia
Today offers an early morning ferry to the Beliearic Island of Ibiza where blue lagoons and coves await your exploration.The artistic wealth is found in the monumental area of Dalt Vila, in the necropolis of Es Puig des Molins and in the archaeological site of Sa Caleta. The beauty of the island city is enhanced by the sands and coves at Figueretes, Es Viver and Talamanca, as well as by its the diverse marine ecosystem. Late afternoon a return ferry trip to Denia where a rest in the hotel after a long day.

Day 7 Murcia
Motoring today will take us from Denia along the coast via Alicanti through to Muria. A chain of mountains surrounds the plain which Murcia sits upon, a city of Arab origin whose existence is closely linked to the fertile lands around the river Segura. From among its streets of guilds emerges the tower of the Cathedral, one of the symbols of the city yet the many cafes and restaurants offers a retreat for the odd dairy update.

Day 8 Granada
Heading further West we drive to Pueto Lumbreras and skirt the nation Park Serria De Baza on our way to Granada. Placed at the foot of the Sierra Nevada mountains, between the rivers Darro and Genil. Granada is one of the most interesting cities in Eastern Andalusia. As well as its impressive Al-Andalus heritage, there are Renaissance architectural gems and the most modern facilities, fit for the 21st century. Granada has an unmistakable Moorish essence, due to the fact that it was the last city to be reconquered by the Catholic Monarchs in 1492. The city offers gastronomy delights and craft-work.

Day 9 Seville
Driving from Granada we cross rugged country via Lucena and Cordoba our route crosses the rolling plains called ‘La Campaña’ cultivated with olives, wheat, oranges and sunflowers. The plains offer colours and are a landscape photographers dream, always changing as the crops ripen under the scorching sun. This are is often known as the ‘frying pan’ in the summer temperatures often reach 40 celcius, entering Seville we book into our accommodation for the night.

Day 10 Seville
Today being a free day gives time to explore the city visiting the cathedral, the Reales Alcázares Palace and the General Archive of the Indies. The years of highest splendor in Seville happened after the discovery of America. During the 16th and 17th century its port was one of the most important in Spain, because it had the monopoly of the foreign trade by sea. Thanks to the trade carried out during that period in Seville, many mansions, stately homes, churches and convents were built. The main monuments in town being the Gothic cathedral stands in the white-washed Santa Cruz neighborhood.
