10 Days Golf Traveling through England and the Lowlands of Scotland

Solo golfing road trip in prestige sports car from London to London. Through the counties in search of that desired Golf course, scenic countryside and staying in Luxury hotels and Langley Castle in the United Kingdom.

Visiting and playing at country golf courses (included) and enjoying the different soil conditions, greens and obstacles all making good talking points on completion of each golf course. The courses we have suggested are all different and unique to the areas they are set in and take us from one end of England to the other, visiting numerous sights and locations while staying luxury hotels and travelling in style.

Driving along country roads we find natural sightseeing locations. This trip takes us to key towns including Cambridge enabling you to try your hand at punting or just being punted along the river. Harrogate Englands tidiest town with its cafes and restaurants prior to the arts town of Kirkcudbright on the banks of the Solway Firth with its small fishing fleet. Stopping at preferred local Pubs for lunch viewing rivers and canals we pass, looking forward to the next golf course all making this a memorable luxury golf holiday never to be forgotten.

Day 1 Leeds Castle

Meet and collect from London Heathrow airport, Hilton T4. we drive through the country known as the garden of England . Stopping at Sissinghurst Castle and gardens before arriving at our initial destination of Leeds Castle in Kent. On arrival there is time to walk the Castle and explore or rest after your flight.

Day 2 Cambridge

Golf at Leeds Castle – times to suit, enabling the first day of golf in England,  unloading clubs and signing on then, commencing either by walking or via buggy, completing with a well earn’t beer in the 19th hole. (optional playing companion) Once the course has been conquered we take a photo or two before taking to the roads making our way north to Cambridge where we have our overnight stay. There are Ghost tours of the city should you wish to visit the past and maybe one of the old famous students; Wordsworth, Byron, Tennyson, Marlowe, Milton, Cromwell, Darwin and many more to consider.

Day 3 Harrogate

Golf at Bourn Golf Club (or similar) is set in a wonderful rural location, yet only 8 miles from Cambridge. Proudly one of the most challenging golf courses in Cambridgeshire and the perfect venue for the second days golf,  unloading clubs and signing on then, commencing either by walking or via buggy (optional playing companion) on completion we take a photo or two before taking to the roads making our way north to Harrogate considered the best kept city in Britain and where we have our overnight stay.

Day 4 Harrogate

Today we have a free day with the opportunity to visit Harrogate city a coffee in Betty’s Tea rooms or a drive to the country visiting Knasborough and its River Nidd, train viaduct and castle via a route through the moors.

Day 5 Langley Castle

Leaving Harrogate we drive to the much loved Langley Castle which is our destination for the night, after signing in we explore the Roman built Hadian’s wall stretching the breath of England, with its museums and forts for all to admire. We enjoy our evening meal in the Castle taking in the medieval atmosphere.

Day 6 Kirkcudbright

Up early and off to  Allendale Golf course (optional playing companion) – “The clubhouse sits at 1077 feet above sea level on the west facing side of Green Hill which peaks at 1374 feet. This high terrain, rising above 500 metres, frames the course to the south and west and dominates first impressions. “This course is a great antidote to every new 7,000-yard course being designed for slam-bang hitters – and with the scenery, it’s a perfect place to come and play golf”.  A spirited round completed with a well earn’t coffee, before we drive across the border into Scotland and across the lowlands to Kirkcudbright via New Abbey and Sweethearts Abbey.

Day 7 Windermere

Either a restfull day in the district or to Kirkcudbright Golf course for an early round before we say farewell to the Kirkcudbright region and drive South into the scenic Lake District of England skirting the great lakes stopping where desired before arriving in Windermere and our accommodation for the night.

6P/M to 9P/M Free time in Windermere

Overnight: Eltermere Inn (or similar)

Day 8 Oxford

We leave the Lake district and continue south through Englands heart land before arriving in the University city of Oxford with its rich history of scolars and rowing feats. Checking into the hotel gives time to visit the town and feel the ambience of the vibrent town.

6P/M to  9P/M Free time in Oxford

Overnight:  Randolph Hotel (or similar)

Day 9 Oxford

Up early and off to the Oxfordshire Golf Club where we sign in,  unloading clubs and on to the greens, commencing either by walking or via buggy completing with a well earn’t beer in the 19th hole. (optional playing companion) Once the course has been conquered we take a photo or two before making our way back to the hotel for a well earnt rest and a final stroll through Oxford visiting the University houses and local Pubs.

4P/M to  9P/M Free time in Oxford

Overnight:  Randolph Hotel (or similar)

Day 10 London

Today is our final day of the trip, on packing the car we head off to Windsor Castle for a visit of this magestic Royal structure. After lunch we make our way back to London Heathrow airport T4 and the completion of this trip.
